Services…what to expect.
We are a Bible-believing church body and this means that our services are centered on the Word of God. Therefore, our desire is to lift up Jesus Christ and glorify God in every service. There are four primary ways we seek to accomplish this in each service:
Our music is carefully selected to be uplifting and have a distinctly Biblical message. We do not subscribe to using “pop” music or rock styles as worship songs seeing they are not distinctly Christian. Whether new or old music, songs must be evaluated on an individual basis. We want to honor Christ by using music that promotes true worship and stays away from the kinds of music that have promoted rebellion and promiscuity in our culture.
The word “worship” means at its roots ‘to ascribe worth.’ The Bible says…for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:21) Through the ministries of MRBC, people are reached with the good news of Jesus Christ both locally and around the world. Our heart is in seeing people come to know Christ as personal Savior, and we are willing to give to see it happen. We are not inviting you so that you will give, but this is yet another way in which we worship God.
You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving.
-Missionary Amy Carmichael
Every message is carefully prepared by Pastor Fies to bring to light some spiritual truth from the Word of God. The Bible describes this process. So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. (Nehemiah 8:8) Each service is built around hearing from God through Bible preaching. The goal is to promote the salvation of the lost, the surrender of the Christian, and the glory of the Lord.
(We use exclusively the KJV Bible. In this day of a multiplicity of versions, we use the time-tested and reliable text of the Scriptures for the English language.)
Love and care for each other is one of the greatest marks of a true Christian. Jesus said that, next to loving God, loving our neighbor [acquaintances] is the most important commandment of God. Weekly services are an opportunity to get to know one another and enter into each others lives through love. MRBC is a caring family of ordinary people who encourage and support one another. Come join the family!
